It is really good to experience family pictures on the other end because it reminds me of what my clients go through for each shoot. Getting everybody ready in time was kind of a stresser and the kids lasted maybe 30 minutes total for Sanae. She did a wonderful job of interacting with us and getting us comfortable in front of the camera. I think that is must when finding a photographer for your family and we were fortunate Sanae was willing to take time out of her day to do this for us!
So I was only able to edit this one from the shoot because we had a little glitch with my computer and it won’t read the disc that Sanae gave me! I still haven’t been able to figure it out so I only have this one to share for now. I will post some more when I get this problem fixed.

This post is long overdue and I am slightly embarrassed that it has taken me this long to get to this family. As you can tell from the pictures, I did this photo shoot in the summer and the weather was absolutely perfect. These little rascals gave me a run for my money just because they wanted to do every kind of exploring in the woods. They kept gathering flowers for their makeshift bouquet for mom and even made deer antlers from dead tree branches. Boys with imagination! I loved their enthusiasm and their excitement to be out and about in nature. Their mom, Kara, stays busy with her four boys at home and also her etsy shop which you can check out here. She makes and sells custom diaper covers that are just absolutely adorable. The name of her store is Olive Jane Designs so if you are interested please click on the link above.

Picture perfect Pearson family

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

So here is a quick look at today’s photo shoot with the Pearsons! We had originally scheduled their family pictures way back in September, but something always came up at the last minute forcing us to cancel. We thought today would be the perfect day, no rain, no snow and no sick children, but we were not prepared for the wind! Wow, it was a little difficult to work around the wind and my main concern was that the kids would be uncomfortable under these conditions. It turned out that Lauren, Max and Ava were great and we managed to get some great family shots! By the way, Kim is into photography as well-she could have taken her own family pics, but like all photographers we are seldom on the other side of the camera. I guess I am just more comfortable taking the pictures instead of being in front of the lens. Well, thanks Rob for being a great sport and thank you rest of Pearsons for a wonderful time! Slideshow to come…

Lovely family = Cadence, Camilla & Cora…

…well mom and dad too, of course! Thank you for a truly effortless photo shoot! Your girls were absolutely perfect!

So my latest discovery-slideshows!
I love doing slideshows instead of posting a whole bunch of pictures because it does save me quite a bit of time.
All of the pictures from the slideshow are all photoshopless (I made that word up) so please forgive them at this point! Thank you Lightroom for allowing me to edit faster than ever before! Reminder to the Lewis family-the final images will look like the picture in this post, but in the meantime please enjoy the presentation!

a little vintage…

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

It seems the latest trend now days is anything and everything vintage-lace, ruffles and pretty things. Enter-vintage rosewraps-which is currently by far my favorite hair accessory to wear around. I first heard about them through my sister in law who emailed me the link to her blog and I just had to get one for myself. Here are some pictures that I took for Katie for her website. Check out her blog-she has a variety of colors to match whatever outfit you have in your closet. And a big thanks to my neighbor Becky and her daughter Annika for the last minute call to be models for the headwraps. They are fabulous!IMG_6599blogUntitled-1blog3

The Ing Family

Monday, October 12th, 2009

I know you guys are wondering where I’ve been these past few days. My mother in law was in town over conference weekend and we had something every night with dinners and visiting with friends. Needless to say I’ve had to put editing on the side for a few days to spend time with family. We had a fun time with everybody and my kids were really sad see their grandma leave back home to Maui.

Okay, so here are some posts to look for in the next few days.

Parasailing
Khasen’s Spider-man birthday party
Kara’s photo shoot at Albion Basin
Perry’s Family Shoot
Pearson’s Family Shoot

In the meantime-here is a photo shoot of the Ing Family! It’s amazing to see them grow to a family of five! I still have memories of the good old collage years with these two. Dane and Leo don’t age at all-even after three kids! If you could see their engagement picture and compare them to how they look today there isn’t much of a change. What’s their secret?
